The Lodge is immaculately maintained and is located in the most northern tip of the Daintree Rainforest overlooking the Great Barrier Reef. In fact, The Hope Island Great Barrier Reef full day tour operated by the Lodge and using the new purpose built Bloomfield Explorer luxury catamaran is regarded as the best way to experience the Great Barrier Reef – with only 12 guests, this small group escorted tour includes numerous reef locations accessible within 30 minutes from the Lodge jetty, reef sport fishing and the deserted island gourmet lunch banquet served within the shaded alcove of the islands lush vegetation. Guests are encouraged to participate or simply observe our guides collect Crayfish (lobster) for which they will dine on that night. Bloomfield Lodge & Mt Louis Station

Bloomfield Lodge owner, Mr Mike Gooley, has recently purchased the 3,000 acre coastal frontage cattle property, Mt Louis Station. This is where our Hinterland Aviation 30 minute scenic air transfers included as a return flight in all Bloomfield Lodge itineraries land with our guests.

Having total ownership of the entire working cattle station has enabled Bloomfield Lodge guides the ability to explore the many freshwater billabongs that are fed from Cedar Bay National Park’s Gap Creek, offering guests wonderful swimming locations, perfectly safe and far away from the nasty salt water crocodiles that inhabit the ancient and unsettled Bloomfield River area. The historic Mt Louis Station Homestead built by the original settlers has been uncovered from the top of Mt Annie, plans are in place to open this area as a guided tour and sunset soiree location for lodge guests. The possibilities for new tours also include guided scenic horse rides and cattle mustering for guest participation.

Bloomfield Lodge has it all, while the reef and the rainforest are certainly our best known features, our guests who stay for 4 nights or more are offered so much more to see and experience including river boat safaris, sport fishing and escorted tours to sacred sites by local Indigenous guides who provide our guests with knowledge and ceremonial activities. Further afield, our Cooktown tour has proven to be a great success.
