Home Valley Station

3.5 million acres of adventure

Home Valley is a working cattle station, Indigenous training facility and world-class tourist resort in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia.

Owned by the Indigenous Land Corporation (ILC) and managed by Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia Home Valley Station is set at the base of the majestic Cockburn Range on the famous Gibb River Road, 120km from the gateway town of Kununurra.

The Station has four levels of accommodation from luxurious Grass Castle suites overlooking the idyllic Bindoola Creek, to comfortable and modern Homestead Guesthouse Rooms, safari style Eco Tents and camping at two picturesque grounds fitted with extensive facilities.

Australia’s Indigenous Land Corporation (ILC) purchased Home Valley Station along with Karunjie Station and Durack River Station on behalf of the Balanggarra people (Home Valley Station) and the Nyaliga people (Karunjie and Durack River Stations) of the East Kimberley, who are the Traditional Owners. Home Valley Station managers and staff are responsible for the cultural and business diversification of all three Stations, providing each with a viable business future while working with individual Traditional Owner groups to ensure sustainable outcomes are achieved which will benefit and respect their culture and way of life.

The combined area of the three cattle stations exceeds 3.5 million acres. We welcome you to explore and enjoy this ancient land with those who know it best.

Visitors to Home Valley Station can enjoy an array of tours and activities from adventurous cattle musters, barramundi fishing on the mighty Pentecost River, horse riding, and Indigenous interpretive cultural tours, to breathtaking ancient gorge walks, and luxurious champagne sunset tours.

The property is beautifully appointed with stunning accommodation and facilities including the magnificent Dusty Bar & Grill, two swimming pools, reception and tour desk, station store and full conference facilities. Due to its stunning location and extensive facilities, Home Valley Station is a highly sought-after destination for weddings and corporate events.

The ILC completed extensive refurbishments to the property in 2008 transforming it from a run-down cattle station to a premium pastoral-based tourist resort. It is the charter of the ILC to provide an economically sustainable operation that will provide a secure future for the local Indigenous community. As part of that charter Home Valley Station is host to an onsite Indigenous Training Program in which students study Tourism, Hospitality, Horticulture and a range of pastoral operations. The Indigenous Trainees are involved in all facets of the daily operation of the station including all tours and activities.

A great way to experience Home Valley Station is via the Bindoola Experience, an all inclusive 4 day / 3 night itinerary.

** Please note: 2011, id Services Australia ceased its contract with the ILC as it integrated the sales and marketing with Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia.  Chris Fenech has taken on this integral role to ensure the transition into Voyages is completed while also accepting the offer as the General Manager of Home Valley Station during this period, this contract ceased in 2012.
